That's a Wrap!

We are wrapping up the first semester here in the art room at LCHS! That means things are getting a little chaotic. Translation: everything is a mess. Have no fear, folks... it will all get done!

Basic Ceramics students are glazing their Spirit Animal Vessels. So excited to see how these guys will look after the glaze fire! You'll be able to check out all finished student work at this year's art show on Friday, May 5th.

Basic Studio Art students have been busy bees as well.

Happy Holidays from the Lake County Art Department!

High School Happenings Fall 2016

Lake County High School Ceramic students have been working hard on their Native American Spirit Animal Vessels. It's been a blast watching these projects come to life! The student meltdowns have been minimal, and Ms. Farrow sees them as a sign of their dedication and determination.

Advanced Drawing students have been working on their CMC Common Reader Art Contest entries. The stakes are high as there is $$ involved for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Come by the college on Tuesday, October 18th at 7pm to see some amazing student art, hear our HS Band play, and listen to author Rayna Grande speak about her book.

Basic Wheel class has been practicing patience, perfecting the art of taking deep breaths, and has found their Zen. They have successfully learned how to center clay on the wheel, and may have even had fun doing it! Sometimes.
